Felixstowe Ferry Artwork Reprint
Size

Although this small selection is dominated by oils, Edwin was initially prolific in watercolours and worked in many media during his Art degree from 1995 – ’98. This example of an ink and charcoal sketch captures the ramshackle ‘Fisherman’s cottages’ on a moody day at Felixstowe Ferry. This is particularly evocative for me as I recall discussing it with Father. He was happy with his depiction and had begun to pack away when darker clouds rolled in and changed the sky. He dipped his fingers in the nearest puddle amongst the pebbles and smudged the clouds to darken them. As he then picked up the paper, Edwin has left his fingerprints in the sky as an added signature.
